Extended Thanksgiving Log

I didn’t really try to get a detailed eating log over the extended weekend. I probably should have, but I didn’t. Instead, here are some daily highlights.

Thursday the 26th

I have Thanksgiving dinner with my mom and sister in the evening. I did pretty good about not snacking before dinner, and when I did it was usually grabbing something from the veggie tray. Also, dinner was a full plate, but no seconds. But after dinner, there was way to much dessert.

Friday the 27th

I met a couple of friends and we went to City BBQ for dinner. I had a beef brisket sandwich w/cole slaw, and mac & cheese. Also, had some apple pie that my mom sent home with me from the day before. I did get on the elliptical for 45 mins though.

Saturday the 28th

Thanksgiving with the Kludys. Since it was a lunch, I skipped breakfast. Throughout the course of the day, I had three plates, which wasn’t too bad. But there was a ton of junk food sitting out and I snacked way too much all day long. The low point of the evening was getting a headache around 6p or 7p. I took something for it, but it never completely went away. By the time I got home around midnight, it was mostly gone. Unfortunately, I woke up around 7am and it was back in full force. After taking some Aleve I managed to get back to sleep.

Sunday the 29th

I got up at 1:30pm, with the headache completely gone. I had Subway (turkey on wheat) for lunch and leftover turkey, mashed potatoes, and stuffing for dinner. I also finished off the last slice of apple pie and the strawberry, cream cheese, pretzel dessert that also came home with me on Thursday. Only the pumpkin pie remains from Thursday, and I should probably just pitch it. I get get on the elliptical for 45 mins, but it was hard getting motivated to actually get started.

Nov 25th, 2009 Log

Food Log

Breakfast: 9:30am, 5 mins after waking up
almond butter and jelly sandwich on wheat, 12 oz. Diet Citrus Drop

Lunch: 1:00pm, 3:30 after Breakfast
Max & Erma’s Gourmet Chicken Sandwhich (lettuce, tomato, onions, swiss, mushrooms), fries, 16 oz. water

Sleep Log

I slept pretty well last again last night. I was in bed around 2:30am and probably asleep within 15 minutes or so. I was watching my nephew today, so I actually had an incentive to not hit the snooze button this morning.

Exercise Log

Elliptical Machine: 10:15pm
Time: 45 mins, Calories: 761, this was the best I’ve felt at the end of a 45 min workout so far

Nov 24th, 2009 Log

And the Thanksgiving eating has officially begun. The scale said 252.5 yesterday, and the goal is to have it be no higher than that on Monday. That might mean I need to get on the elliptical machine a lot this week.

I feel asleep pretty quickly last night. I was in bed by 2:45am and probably asleep around 3am.

Sleep Log

I was in bed around 2:45am last night, and probably fell asleep inside of 20 mins. Felt pretty good this morning, though I did hit the wrong button the alarm clock. Fortunately, it was hitting the snooze button instead of turning it off like I though. I have done the opposite and that usually isn’t a good thing.

After sleeping in yesterday, I had a hard time getting to bed last night. I manage to get in bed by 3:30am, and probably fell asleep around 4am.

Pretty typical night, since I went to bed around 3am. I did set the alarm later than normal since I didn’t have anything planned before the OSU game.

Nov 20th, 2009 Log

I had a massage schedule for this afternoon, and I really needed to be stretched out. My lower back had been tight for a while, and the workouts on the elliptical were not helping that. They weren’t making it worse, but definitely not helping either. My back felt much better afterward though.

Sleep Log

I managed to get to bed somewhat early for me, at 2:15am. But I couldn’t sleep right away and it was almost 3am the last time I saw the alarm clock. The scheduled massage meant that I was supposed to have the morning off from work, but that didn’t exactly happen. Since I knew I still had to do some work and wanted to get on the elliptical machine, I did get up without hitting the snooze button at all.

Time: 30 mins, Calories: 400, originally wanted to do 45, but work keep me busy too close to my noon appointment. It kind of felt weird to exercise so early in the day.

Nov 19th, 2009 Log

The scale finally showed a number lower than Sept. 24, so that was nice. It is probably no coincidence that happened the day after I did 45 mins on the elliptical machine.

I wasn’t very tired last night and it was 3:30am before I knew it. I did manage to fall asleep fairly quickly once I was in bed, but it was probably close to 4am. As a result, I did hit the snooze button a few extra times this morning.

I had a doctor’s appointment today to review the food/sleep/exercise logging. While he was pleased that I was tracking everything, there were the obvious streaks of days with a lot of fast food. He main suggestion was to go back and review the calories/fat content of some of the items that I eat regularly.

I didn’t sleep too bad last night. I was in bed a little before 3am and asleep a little after that. Since I had the doctor’s appointment, that was some decent motivation to not hit the snooze button.

Time: 45 mins, Calories: 737, body thought it was done at the 30 min mark, but around 33 min got back into a good pace

Sleep Log

I went to bed around 3am, but had a hard time falling asleep. Not really sure how late it was before that actually happened. I did manage to get up on time this morning though, as I turned the alarm off instead of hitting snooze. Fortunately, I was awake enough to realize it, but not awake enough to mess with resetting the alarm. So I just went and ate breakfast instead of going back to sleep.
